The Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah has revealed the names of five of the six Bangladeshis killed in a fire at a sofa factory in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
The deceased were identified as Mizan and Arafat, two brothers from Chittagong. They are the sons of Sultan Ahmed of Chambir Para, South Sukhchari, Lohagara Upazila.
Besides, Ishaq Mia of Ghatibhanga village in Cox’s Bazar, his father’s name Jalal Mia and Abdul Aziz of the same village, father Kabir Ahmed and Rafiq Uddin of Dembuni Para of Abu Gafur of the same upazila were killed.
Meanwhile, the name of another Bangladeshi killed in the accident has not been identified yet, the consulate said.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept in the morgue of King Fahad Hospital in Medina.
The fire broke out at midnight local time on Wednesday (February 10). However, the local police have not yet revealed how the fire started
The Bangladesh embassy has been in constant touch to identify the bodies of the deceased.
